Five years after Tancade, unanimously praised by critics, cellist, composer, and producer Gaspar Claus returns with CELLS, his new album set to be released on September 25. After several years of significant collaborations with artists such as Pedro Soler, Bryce Dessner (The National), Sufjan Stevens, and Rone, he presents a work created with producer Basile3 in a custom-built studio. Filled with tensions between acoustic and digital, Cells explores a sound universe in perpetual motion where the cello interacts with electronic transformations. True to a unique artistic approach, influenced by contemporary minimalism and Mediterranean influences, Gaspar Claus unfolds a dense, sensitive, and demanding instrumental music. More complex to develop than his previous album, CELLS marks an ambitious new step in an already rich and recognized discography.
