Nature Unveiled marks one of the founding acts of the Current 93 universe. Released in 1984 around David Tibet, Steven Stapleton and John Murphy, the record appears as a fascinating collision between industrial music, apocalyptic mysticism and ritual experimentation. Suffocating drones, martial percussion, tape manipulations and hallucinatory vocals make up a true sonic ceremony here, dark and visionary. Still deeply rooted in the industrial aesthetic of the early days, the album already reveals the outlines of what would later become the “apocalyptic folk” so dear to David Tibet. A radical and essential work of the British experimental underground.
