Nearly four years after "A Head Full of Dreams" (6 million copies sold worldwide, including 350,000 in France), the English band is releasing its eighth album. A comeback teased for nearly a year and begun in 2018, but whose clues multiplied in October 2019 with the appearance of a poster in the São Paulo subway where the four members appear as brass band musicians alongside the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. This visual then appeared around the world before Coldplay sent letters to fans to confirm their return. Thus, Chris, Guy, Jon and Will give them a date on November 22, 2019 with "Everyday Life", a double concept album split into two parts, "Sunrise" and "Sunset". “This corresponds to how we currently feel about certain things. We send you lots of love, from our hibernation,” could be read in this letter. The album title is written in English and Arabic, while the symbols of the sun and the moon appeared, along with a new profile photo of the band on social media. The tracklist leaked on Amazon Italy before the page was quickly removed. Thus, each part will consist of eight songs with titles as mysterious as they are exotic, such as "Èko", "Arabesque" or "WOTW / POTP".
