Circa Waves announce the release of their highly anticipated new album Different Creatures, out from March 10 on Island / Barclay. “Wake Up,” like a truly sharp statement of intent, is dressed in walls of effects-soaked guitars, capturing space alongside Kieran Shudall’s signature melodic vocals, and marks the return to action of a band ready to impose its style and dominate the lively debate around guitar bands in the UK. Produced with Alan Moulder (The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Smashing Pumpkins), Different Creatures proudly displays a new, more assertive attitude, the sharper, more nocturnal counterpart to Young Chasers, the airy, summery hit that reached the Top 10. Shaped with ease by Kieran’s pen, his preferred tool for expressing his disillusionment in the face of the turmoil of the world around him, Different Creatures sees the band return louder and full of vitality, elbowing their way alongside rock heavyweights Arctic Monkeys and Queens Of The Stone Age. Singer Kieran comments on the new single: “Wake Up is an ambitious and bold way to kick things off. We’re showing that we’re really serious.” Their debut album Young Chaser had propelled four singles into heavy rotation on BBC Radio 1 and revealed the band at lightning speed, a reputation culminating six months later with a sold-out show at Brixton Academy.
