With "Kyma," Bear's Towers reach an important milestone and now assert themselves as one of the future great bands of the pop-rock music scene. "Kyma" means "wave" in Greek. Not the kind that sweeps everything away in its path, but rather the wave that evolves and transforms along its journey. Bear's Towers, with their already significant stage experience, have matured their style and are forging a strong and lasting identity with this second album. The folk accents are still present, like a signature, but this new pop-rock dimension brings more explosiveness to the songs, with more pronounced rhythmic punctuations and sharper, incisive breaks. Aurélien Pinget's voice also evolves in this direction, and its timbre now leans towards a distinctly more pop-rock tone.
Lyrics and music Since "Never Alone," Bear's Towers has developed a single narrative revolving around four main themes: wandering, love, death, and rebirth. Throughout their compositions, they build a rich and coherent universe inspired by great American myths: nature, vast spaces, wandering, lack of roots, painful past, "road movies," and passionate loves that are born and die along the paths traveled, by the roadside, near a river, or in the room of a forgotten motel. True little stories that echo one another and ultimately form a global narrative, Bear's Towers' songs often depict beings scarred by life and losers, but magnificent losers, connected by a rediscovered brotherhood and by a strong and authentic love, even if fleeting.
