With Helluva Band, the American band Angel delivered in 1976 one of the great forgotten classics of US hard rock. Between flamboyant glam, progressive keyboards and powerful riffs, the quintet led by Frank DiMino and Punky Meadows develops a spectacular and melodic sound, somewhere between Kiss, Styx and Deep Purple. Driven by tracks like Feelin' Right, Pressure Point or the epic The Fortune, the album blends hard rock energy, progressive flourishes and unifying choruses in a typically seventies production. A cult and ambitious record, it has become a benchmark for fans of melodic hard rock and American glam rock.
