Andy Shauf is back in force with the sublime "Norm"! Andy Shauf's songs unfold like short fictions: they are densely populated with colorful characters and rich emotional depth. On his new studio album, "Norm", Andy Shauf's songs are decidedly more oblique, alluding to sinister events and dark motivations. The result: an intoxicating collection of melodies and captivating lyrics. The levitating atmospheres and synth-laden sounds drive Shauf's storytelling on "Norm", mixed by Neal Pogue (Tyler, the Creator). In 2016, The Party catapulted Andy Shauf to indie fame, followed by The Neon Skyline in 2020, which allowed Andy Shauf to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and CBS This Morning: Saturday, a nomination for the Polaris Prize, and mentions on several best-of lists including a spot on Barack Obama's playlist and praise from Pitchfork, The Atlantic, Esquire, Stereogum, and more.
