In spring 2025, just as *Possession* was being released, Ty Segall began hearing voices, first calm, then quickly shouting: “Get the band back together!!!” Immediately, his mind went to work, creating, gathering, and organizing riffs for songs, an album that he and the band — Ben Boye, Evan Burrows, Mikal Cronin, and Emmett Kelly — would all eventually call Chrome. Tracks with massive riffs, lopsided and impeccably orchestrated fuzz and distortion lines, two-guitar duels, pounding keyboards, precise and deafening power, a driving rhythmic core, overflowing with the band’s energy. The lyrics are allusive journeys, dark passages through a labyrinth, where everything in the air vibrates collectively, while minds collide.
