About
Cult of Luna, Swedish post-metal pioneers blending sludge and atmospheric depth.
Cult of Luna emerged from Umeå’s vibrant metal scene in 1998, founded by Klas Rydberg and Johannes Persson. Their style spans sludge, doom, and post-metal, marked by expansive soundscapes and textured layers blending heaviness with ambiance. Over two decades, they released nine studio albums including vinyl editions reflecting evolving sonic explorations.
The band's discography includes notable LPs pressed by labels like Earache, Indie Recordings, and Metal Blade. Their 2022 album 'The Long Road North' features several limited and numbered editions pressed primarily in Germany. Earlier works such as 'Eternal Kingdom' (2008) and 'Vertikal' (2013) remain sought-after on the vinyl market, with vibrant price ranges reflecting pressing rarity and collector demand.
