Originally, In Cold Blood was a live album featuring ten songs accompanied by an EP with five studio tracks. The live set includes four rock and soul covers, including Gloria by Van Morrison and Green Onions by Booker T & The MGs. On second guitar, Johnny reunites with his partner in crime Walter Lure, who was part of the Heartbreakers and is the only surviving member as of this writing. The toxic twins of heroin, Johnny and Walter, demonstrate here that they know their craft and are not limited to a Sid Vicious-style destructive attitude. Too Much Junkie Business carries a certain irony when you know Johnny's fate, but that's the imagery of rock. From opiate rock to sped-up soul, Johnny holds his own, sometimes an imprecise vocalist but a quality guitarist. An eighties memory of an artist who passed away eight years later, before reaching 40. Too Much Junkie Business, indeed. Highlights: Too Much Junkie Business, Gloria, Do You Love Me.
