In 1979, JOHNNY THUNDERS, renowned guitarist of the Heartbreakers and the New York Dolls, teamed up with WAYNE KRAMER, legendary guitarist of the cult Detroit band MC5, to form GANG WAR, a collaboration that would last nearly a year. Johnny had just released his album So Alone, and Wayne had just been released from prison after serving two of his four-year sentence for cocaine trafficking. Although Gang War released no album and signed with no label - the band was underground at the time - this collaboration is now considered a mythical rock supergroup. These live recordings in Toronto, Boston and New York bear witness to this unique partnership between two rock guitar icons.
