Coin Collection 3 is the latest installment in the Coin Collection trilogy (2021, 2023), a foundational series in Spencer Cullum's solo career. Born from his need to reconnect with his roots and influences, this project highlights both his personal vision and the richness of his artistic circle. A kaleidoscope of folk, jazz, and pop, the album was assembled from nomadic recordings (analog tapes, iPhone voice notes, and raw studio takes) compiled on cassette from his garden shed turned studio. It features Erin Rae, Rich Ruth, Oisin Leech, and Hollow Hand, among others. To make sense of contemporary crises, Cullum turned to English folklore: occult tales, ancient rituals, and vengeful nature permeate several tracks where the natural world reclaims dominance over humanity. "I made my own A24 horror movie," he sums up.
