Now, with his debut solo album, *Spencer Cullum’s Coin Collection*, which pays tribute to the psych-pop, folk, and proto-prog heroes of the 60s and 70s from his homeland, this Nashville sideman steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight. The album is set for release on September 24 via Full Time Hobby. With a supporting cast of fellow Music City scene and studio aces like guitarist Sean Thompson and multi-instrumentalist Luke Reynolds, as well as vocal and writing partners such as Caitlin Rose, Andrew Combs, Erin Rae, Annie Williams, and James "Skyway Man" Wallace, he brings a little bit of Britain to Tennessee. Produced by Jeremy Ferguson and recorded at the Nashville indie-rock producer and Grammy Award winner’s Battle Tapes Recording studio, the album boasts a wide-open, clear sound, suitable for a shimmering, dexterous set of songs with non-narrative lyrics drawn from the mystical corners of the subliminal mind. The lyrics come from his own experience, Cullum explains.
