Finnish avant-garde and noise-rock group NYOS returns with its sixth full-length album: "Waterfall Cave Fantasy, Forever." Combining the mutant funk-punk loops of Battles and Tortoise with a cinematic wall of sound akin to post-rock titans Russian Circles, NYOS continues to contrast its exceptional compositional complexity with live improvisations. First explored on 2022’s "Celebration," this new creative freedom on the new album allows NYOS to reach new heights of playful chaos and uninhibited joy. NYOS was born when in 2012, guitarist Tom Brooke took the plunge and left his hometown of Leeds in the UK for Finland, with the dream of establishing his own recording studio, Tonehaven, which now serves as the band's HQ. Soon after, Tom crossed paths with drummer Tuomas Kainulainen who, after cutting his teeth on the local punk scene, was ready to start something new. The connection was instant, and the duo established their distinctive and restless blend of math-rock, free jazz, and harsh noise from the very first rehearsals. The band has not stopped since, releasing six full-length albums and dozens of singles and EPs, and playing hundreds of shows worldwide with international contemporaries such as Zeal & Ardor, Esben & The Witch, and The Comet Is Coming.
