Life Rhythm

All pieces on "Life Rhythm" originate from a drum groove. An excellent example is the title track that opens the album. It is no coincidence that the groove is reminiscent of Phil Collins' in his song "Take Me Home." Collins, and the way he transforms a drum part into a building block for his composition, has always been one of Wolfgang Haffner's greatest inspirations. Each of the eleven tracks on "Life Rhythm" opens up its own world of particularly musical drumming: "Balance" with its delicate brushwork, in "Joy of Life" it's a cymbal groove, for "Eternity" there's the subtle use of electronics, and in "Silence and Sound," less is definitely more. "Life Rhythm," says Wolfgang Haffner, "is not a repetition for me, but a continuation." With its warmth, power, and clarity, the music bears the distinctive hallmark that arguably makes Haffner the most popular drummer/bandleader in Europe, known for his albums and for thousands of concerts in over 100 countries. It also marks an evolution in his music.
