After starting out alongside the great Art Blakey and his Jazz Messengers, Wayne Shorter went on to join what would become one of the greatest quintets of Miles Davis' legendary career. It was alongside the master, in the early 1960s, that the saxophonist established himself as a must-hear in the genre.
Released in 1964, "Juju" is considered one of the saxophonist's five most essential albums. Heavily inspired by the work of his mentor John Coltrane, this opus contains some mythical Post-Bop Jazz gems. Surrounded by giants of the genre such as Elvin Jones (drums), Reggie Workman (double bass), and McCoy Tyner (piano), Wayne Shorter firmly established his vision of Jazz with this album.
