SAXON Description / Introduction:Formed in 1977, Saxon established themselves in the early 80s as one of the leaders of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. With this self-titled debut album, released in 1979, singer Biff Byford and guitarists Graham Oliver and Paul Quinn immediately made a name for themselves by forging the classics "Stallions Of The Highway" and "Still Fit To Boogie." These tracks helped them gather an army of fans, who were also enthusiastic about the follow-up "Rainbow Theme / Frozen Rainbow," which opens the album. This edition offers a remastered version of this mythical work, with bonus unreleased demos from 1978, their first BBC session, and live tracks recorded at Donington.
