Samara Joy brought her band, comprised of other emerging young jazz musicians, to the legendary Van Gelder Studios (the venerable studio where *A Love Supreme* and so many excellent records from the Impulse and Blue Note catalogs were made) in February 2024.
Recorded over three days, Samara and her musicians captured an incredible snapshot of who she is today and the promise of tomorrow. It's a collection of standards, an original, and some of her first forays into lyrical songwriting, showcasing her singular voice alongside the arrangements and playing of this tight-knit young band.
The recording tells the story of the community she has built with a new generation of young musicians and serves as a studio rendition that delivers on the promise of the live show so many fans have seen them perform over the past year.
