« You are so young to play so well! I hate you! ». It was with these words that David Sanborn addressed the young 22-year-old German saxophonist at the end of his concert on the main stage of the Leverkusen Jazz Festival in 2013. It is true that the maturity of these four young adults is surprising when listening to this album. The group immediately positions itself among the frontrunners of the best hopes of German jazz. With a contagious passion and a commitment at every moment, the four musicians have one foot firmly planted in tradition while surpassing mere sterile repetition with their freshness and stylistic originality. Their compositions draw from the great legends of American jazz (notably John Coltrane) but also from today's leaders, such as Joshua Redman. A very successful debut album and certainly a quartet to watch.
