Philadelphia-based activist and experimental artist Camae Ayewa (aka Moor Mother) is releasing her first full-length album with ANTI-, "Black Encyclopedia of the Air". She first released an epic single "Zami" which heralds this album recorded at home during the pandemic with soundscape producer Olof Melander. It follows her last album "BRASS" from 2020. The album contains "13 haunting tracks about memory, imprint and the future, all floating in blank space like the ghostly ashes of a burning world," a sentiment that continues her work with the Black Quantum Futurism collective. The album announcement is accompanied by a new single, "Obsidian," featuring rapper Pink Siifu. Ayewa's cool, low voice perfectly matches Siifu's more conventional flow, and the stuttering percussion and vocal effects give the song an ethereal quality.
