Philadelphia activist and experimental artist Camae Ayewa (aka Moor Mother) releases her first full-length album with ANTI-, "Black Encyclopedia of the Air". She first released an epic single "Zami" announcing this album, recorded at home during the pandemic with soundscape producer Olof Melander. It follows her previous 2020 album "BRASS". The album contains "13 haunting tracks about memory, imprint, and the future, all floating in blank space like the ghostly ash of a burning world," a sentiment that continues her work with the Black Quantum Futurism collective. The album announcement is accompanied by a new single, "Obsidian," featuring rapper Pink Siifu. Ayewa's cool, low voice blends perfectly with Siifu's more conventional flow, and the stuttering percussion and vocal effects give the song an ethereal quality.
