It was in 1999 that Les Ogres de Barback released their second album, "Irfan, le héros". The Ogres blend musette and brass band music. Still self-produced and recorded by Jean-Pierre Spirli in the family home in Creuse, this album marked the beginning of a great adventure... It reveals the influence of Eastern European music, with the title taken directly from Kusturica's film "Time of the Gypsies". Irfan also became the name of their label, which they created 2 years later, making Les Ogres a self-produced, self-distributed, and 100% independent band.
This album features several hit songs that have contributed to Les Ogres' ongoing success on stage, such as "Contes, vents et marées", "Little Gentlemen", and "Grand-mère".
This first vinyl edition also highlights the cover art and the work of Aurélia Grandin, which are inseparable from the band's music and image.
