Description
Karl Hector is the pseudonym of Jay Whitefield, producer and guitarist for Poets of Rhythm and Whitefield Brothers. Together with Thomas Myland and Zdenko Curlija, they founded Karl Hector and The Malcouns in the early 2000s. Alongside Bo Baral, other members of Poets of Rhythm, and Munich studio musicians, Whitefield, Myland, and Curlija developed about twenty tracks for *Sahara Swing*, their first album influenced by music from across the African diaspora. Two vinyl EPs followed: *Coomassi*, the latest, is the opening track of the album *Unstraight Ahead*, which will be released next summer.
