Led by Joe Lovano and Jakob Bro, this group of musicians performs a series of original pieces composed in the spirit and unique idiom that Motian invented and beautifully brought to life behind his drum kit. In ‘Once Around The Room’, compositions by Joe and Jakob coexist with collective improvisations and Motian's own piece titled 'Drum Music'. The ensemble forms a coherent whole, thanks to the collective intelligence of a lineup that features Larry Grenadier, Thomas Morgan, and Anders Christensen on bass, and Joey Baron and Jorge Rossy on drums.
