Initially scheduled for release on March 26th
Uma Elmo, the fifth album by Danish guitarist Jakob Bro, is now available on vinyl.
Jakob presents a new trio he formed with Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen and Spanish drummer Jorge Rossy. The three musicians played together for the first time during the album's recording sessions, under the direction of Manfred Eicher. Highlights of the album include the opening track 'Reconstructing a Dream', a darkly lyrical reverie, as well as 'To Stanko', Bro's discreet tribute to the late great Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stanko, not to mention 'Music for Black Pigeons', with its evocative title given by the great saxophonist Lee Konitz.
