For this new exploration of music's immense and rich repertoire, my guide has been... Paris. Absolute capital, cosmopolitan, poetic and ingenuous, vibrant and cultivated, brimming with multiple inspirations, timeless Paris, host city of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Paris, inviting Rameau and adopting Offenbach, welcoming Cosma and paying homage to Debussy, Fauré, and Ravel. Paris, saluting the premiere of Carmen and the first steps of Franz Lehár, humming Francis Lai and Michel Legrand, walking hand in hand with Edith Piaf and Yves Montand. And Jean-Jacques Goldman, for whom I have held particular admiration since childhood thanks to Aude, my elder sister, honors us with an unreleased song, Pense à nous. This album is the journal of that journey, my Paris and yours, traversing all styles and all eras. An endless reverie where each work welcomes another. Once again, I entrusted the cello arrangements to my faithful collaborator, Jérôme Ducros, accompanied by the Orchestre de chambre de Paris under the direction of my friend Lionel Bringuier.
