Spellbinder, released in 1966 on Impulse!, introduced Hungarian guitarist Gábor Szabó to a wider audience with a set that blended modal jazz, Eastern European folk influences, and 1960s pop textures. The album features Szabó with a quintet of Chick Corea (piano), Albert Stinson (bass), Chico Hamilton (drums), and Willie Bobo (percussion), in a hypnotic blend of grooves and drones. This edition is mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl.
