THE ELECTRIC BLUES TRIO COVERS 10 SONGS BY CHICAGO BLUES LEGEND HOUND DOG TAYLOR. The blues is timeless. Good blues, no matter how old, sounds as fresh and visceral today as it did when it was first recorded. This is a statement that the high-voltage electric blues trio GA-20 knows well. The band, consisting of guitarist Matt Stubbs, guitarist and vocalist Pat Faherty, and drummer Tim Carman, writes and plays songs that indeed sound like the old blues they love, in the style of Otis Rush, J.B. Lenoir, Howlin' Wolf, Junior Wells, and their favorite, Hound Dog Taylor. Legendary six-fingered Chicago bluesman (afflicted with polydactyly) Theodore Roosevelt 'Hound Dog' Taylor once said that when he died, people would say he couldn't play but he sure could make it sound damn good! His first album, Hound Dog Taylor and the HouseRockers, released in 1971, was also the first for the now-famous Alligator Records label. In fact, Bruce Iglauer founded the label with the sole purpose of recording and releasing that album! In partnership with Alligator Records for its 50th anniversary, the Colemine label is proud to release GA-20's new album, 'Try It... You Might Like It! GA-20 Does Hound Dog Taylor,' on Karma Chief Records, offering us 10 songs written or performed by the Chicago blues legend. From the fiery opener "She's Gone" to the scorching "Sadie" and the classic "Give Me Back My Wig," GA-20 electrifies us track after track!
