Crackdown

Description

GA-20 is on a roll. A movement, a revival of the genre. The retro blues trio is a disciple of mixing traditional blues and rock'n'roll with a touch of country. The band, made up of guitarist Stubbs, guitarist/vocalist Pat Faherty, and drummer Tim Carman, has been at the forefront of this traditional blues revival since its formation in 2018. It's no wonder they're at the top of the blues charts. From the beginning, they've focused on the genre's history, melodies, and creating an atmosphere. Country, soul, and funk music have seen massive revivals recently, but traditional blues hadn't quite caught on until now. With the release of their new album Crackdown and a busy touring schedule, GA-20 hopes to be part of that change! Crackdown is their third album. The band creates a raw, ragged blues sound that is both traditional and modern. Building on their previous albums (Lonely Soul, 2019 and Try It...You Might Like It! GA-20 Does Hound Dog Taylor, 2021), GA-20 finds inspiration at the genre's fringes, where early electric blues first converged with country and rock'n'roll. The album's nine original songs include the Louisiana-flavored "Dry Run," the gritty, stripped-down "Easy On The Eyes," and the melodic, garage-infused "Fairweather Friend." With electric performances, brevity, and punk energy reminiscent of the Ramones, Crackdown is a loud, fun album full of memorable, well-crafted songs.
