In 30 years, Darkthrone has become one of the global pillars of black metal, establishing itself as one of the most renowned and influential bands of the genre. The band, formed in 1987, first experimented with Thrash, then Death/Doom Metal with broader musical influences, ranging from the '60s to '80s until the release of their first album, 'Soulside Journey' (1991). The band then quickly adopted a much darker and more primitive form of expression on the iconic second album 'A Blaze in the Northern Sky', and the rest is history. With 'Old Star', the Norwegian legends offer us 6 new epic tracks, the best of old-school Heavy & Extreme Metal, loaded with Doom riffs from the underground! The album was recorded in the band's studios, Necrohell 2, produced by singer/guitarist Nocturno Culto, completed by a perfectly organic mix by Sanford Parker (Voivod) at Hypercube studios, and mastered once again by Jack Control at Enormous Door.
