Darkthrone began in the late 80s as a thrash/death metal band before becoming a Norwegian black metal legend. Written and recorded in just 2 weeks, 'Transilvanian Hunger' (1994) stands out with its primitive guitar riffs and monotonous drumming, evoking the brutality of Bathory. This album, with lyrics by Varg Vikernes on half the tracks, embodies the sound of 90s Norwegian black metal. Recorded at Fenriz's 'Necrohell' studio, it marks the band's first release as a duo. For its 30th anniversary, the limited edition is available on marbled vinyl, with an original audio master by Patrick Engel.
