A little less than a year after the highly acclaimed Into the Silence, his first album for ECM, trumpeter Avishai Cohen presents with Cross My Palm With Silver a program of new compositions that highlights a top-notch quartet. The almost telepathic interplay between the musicians allows Avishai Cohen to soar and ultimately makes the trumpeter one of the most famous musicians on today's music scene. 'The combination of all these musicians really constitutes my dream team,' declares the charismatic trumpeter about his accomplices, Yonathan Avishai, Barak Mori, and Nasheet Waits, who all share his sense of improvisation and intuition for structure. Just like Into the Silence, Cross My Palm with Silver was produced by Manfred Eicher at the La Buissonne studios in the south of France. The album's release will be followed by a major European tour with concerts in France, Italy, Luxembourg, England, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands.
