In 1960, Art Pepper recorded a trio of albums before serving a prison sentence that would keep him out of the studios for over a decade.
'Gettin’ Together!', the first of these, echoes the essential 'Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section' (1957) by bringing together members of Miles Davis's rhythm section—bassist Paul Chambers, pianist Wynton Kelly, and drummer Jimmy Cobb—to serve revitalized standards and original compositions, including the elegant "Diane" and the refined "Bijou The Poodle".
This reissue is part of the "Contemporary Records Acoustic Sounds" audiophile collection and benefits from new analog mastering from the master tapes by Bernie Grundman, as well as the original cover art and liner notes in meticulous packaging.
