ANGE was formed in 1969 around brothers Christian and Francis Décamps. Strongly influenced by the progressive rock of Genesis and King Crimson, the band stands out with a musical universe where Christian Décamps writes lyrics imbued with beautiful theatrical and poetic writing. On stage, the band builds a solid reputation and becomes, over the years of the seventies, a leading formation of French rock with six studio albums between 1972 and 1978, including: Le cimetière des arlequins (1973) and Par les fils de Mandrin (1976). The Décamps duo begins the following decade with the same desire, recording a new series of albums marked, starting in 1984, by a more pop musical production. The nineties will be less prolific; Ange continues to perform on stage, but Francis Décamps leaves his brother in 1995 to pursue other musical horizons. Today, Christian Décamps continues the adventure with new companions, including his son Tristan.
