Kataklysm’s new album, Goliath, will be released as an orange LP with black and white splatters. Limited to 1000 copies! For nearly 3 decades, the US- and French-Canadian-based melodic death metal syndicate KATAKLYSM has delivered shameless waves of its power across the entire world. On August 11, 2023, the band’s 15th studio album, Goliath, will be unveiled to the general public via Nuclear Blast Records. Goliath was recorded at JFDStudios in Dallas, TX and Studio City, CA as well as at The Cabin in Orlando, FL by J-F Dagenais, who also produced and engineered the album. For the mixing and mastering, the band returns to Chris Clancy with the help of Colin Richardson. The artwork required an image that captured the iconic theme of the battle of David against Goliath that runs throughout the album while matching the power of the music. The band handed the reins to renowned Berlin metal illustrator Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE), who took Kataklysm’s look and gave it a macabre filter that complements the sense of unease felt during the writing and recording of the album. Few bands have achieved what Kataklysm has accomplished over their long and rigorous career, but what truly sets them apart from the masses is seeing the world through truthful eyes and creating the perfect musical landscape to describe it. With this new album, Kataklysm offers an innocent yet aggressive album in such an uncertain time. Goliath is the band’s response to the kind of media that have been force-fed from both sides and have found their voice and identity, which made them figures of Death Metal.
