Big Crown Records is proud to present Ruby, the debut album by Dave Guy. After lending his talents on stage and in the studio to artists like Amy Winehouse, Lizzo, Pharrell and Sharon Jones, and playing every night on The Tonight Show as a member of The Roots, Dave embarks on the adventure with a jazz album that is both unique and modern. Ruby blends his musical influences with the energy of the city that raised him, capturing different moods and inviting the listener into the world as Dave Guy sees and feels it. Recorded in Queens at Legendary Diamond Mine studio, the album is produced by Homer Steinweiss and Nick Movshon and features musical contributions from Leon Michels, Marco Benevento, Claire Cottrill and many others. Ruby instantly takes its place in the lineage of classics as a fully realized album rather than a simple collection of songs. It moves nimbly between energetic anthems, Latin-inspired tracks made for the dance floor, spiritual jazz atmospheres and more stripped-down, intimate pieces.
