In the early 1990s, these three musicians, in their twenties, met in New York, where they shared the same thirst to play jazz with the vitality of swing, to soak up its spirit and learn its intricacies.
Subsequently, each established himself under his own name, individually leading brilliant careers: drummer Ali Jackson, originally from Detroit, for over a decade with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra led by Wynton Marsalis; double bassist Omer Avital at the head of groups drawing part of their inspiration from his Jewish, Yemeni, and Moroccan roots; and pianist Aaron Goldberg, as brilliant as a soloist as he is as an accompanist, accustomed to the liveliest jazz spirit alongside Joshua Redman.
United by a twenty-five-year friendship, these three contemporary jazz masters happily reactivate the tradition of the genre, within an all-star trio that magnifies the spirit of swing and says yes to the pleasure and excitement of playing together. With the Yes! Trio, jazz is far from having said its last word!
