Hot Like Dynamite

Description

It all begins in the summer of 2019, between two concerts, with a break alongside Victor Mechanik, the 28-year-old multi-instrumentalist who accompanies Yarol on keyboards. In the countryside where they drop their bags, a barn converted into a studio catches their eye. In this secluded space, they embark on a quest for less systematic writing, for less conventional melodic patterns. In just a few days, the raw versions of the title track "Hot Like Dynamite," "Rio," and "Chevrolet" are born. In the following months, still in the same place, this spontaneity gives rise to "Bullet in the Head," "Crocodile," "Margarita," "The Detonator," and then to most of the album. True to his taste for musical fusion, Yarol enjoys blending rock and funk, paying homage to hard rock or rap, and merging new wave with African sounds.
