Honey For The Ants
Description
Wojciech Rusin announces the release of Honey for the Ants via AD 93. Alongside this announcement, Rusin has released the single Behind the Palazzo, available to listen to now. Honey for the Ants completes an "alchemical trilogy," following The Funnel and Syphon. These albums are inspired by mystical and gnostic texts, celebrating the strange, the unhinged, and sometimes the beautiful. In this upcoming album, the tonalities have shifted from medieval and Renaissance dissonances to modernist dissonances. New singers and instrumentalists contribute to an emotional and textural richness achieved through a collaborative process. Distant musical periods, real and fictitious, casually intertwine to create a delirious hybrid that salutes the imagination.Wojciech Rusin is a Polish-born audiovisual artist based in London. He draws inspiration from alchemical and gnostic texts, early Renaissance choral music, and Eastern European mythologies. He released the LP Syphon on AD 93 in 2022 and the LP The Funnel on Akashic Records in April 2019. He designs and builds 3D-printed reed instruments, reworking ancient models with contemporary 3D modeling technologies. In 2020, he released Meat for the Guard Dogs on Cafe OTO's digital label Takuroku, and the cassette Rufus Orbis for the Boomkat Editions / Documenting Sound series. His music has been featured on BBC Four, and he has worked for the National Theatre and the Southbank Centre.Buy Honey For The Ants at the best price
