The tracks on *Rat Saw God* don't tell epics, just everyday life. They are true, real, hazy, chaotic, and strange. But with *Rat Saw God*—and with any Wednesday song, really—you don't even necessarily need to catch all the references to grasp its essence, the strangely specific exhilaration of a song that truly hits home. It's all in the details—how messed up you can feel, how you can break a heart, how you fall in love—but it's primarily how these small moments add up and articulate themselves in a song, an album, or in life that truly matters.
