Description

Walter Astral is the duo formed by Tristan Thomas, also known as Zaspéro and captain at Ovhal44, and Tino Gelli, the singer of Polycool. Their two musical worlds, seemingly distant, share the same devotion to dreaminess and absurdity, harmonizing in their mystical trances. The music of Walter Astral is the meeting of psychedelic pop with the universe of techno and acid. Tristan's drum machines and acid basslines blend with the retro sound of Tino's guitar and a banjo so old it produces quarter tones, like a saz. "Jour" is the first part of Walter Astral's upcoming album "L'Éclipse". The two druids explore the first phase of the day, its luminous side where the world awakens and colors come to life. Always on a mystical quest, the duo navigates the ambiguous dynamics of the Day, projecting human issues onto the natural world. The ambivalence of Light and Shadow, of what they reveal and what they hide, is the theme of the next album. Driven by acid basslines, a Totem Banjo, vintage guitars, and ethereal vocals, "Jour" is a journey oscillating between pop songs and psychedelic trances. Drawing inspiration from all periods and musical origins, the duo synthesizes a hybrid and unique sound that they continue to explore.
