Three years since the last album by PASCAL ARBEZ (alias VITALIC). Three long years where the absence of the pope of French electro has been widely felt. Today, he who, like DAFT PUNK, can boast of being part of the very select club of French musicians who have conquered dancefloors around the world, returns with his highly anticipated third album, mischievously titled "Rave Age." Mixed by the magician STEPHANE ALF BRIAT (AIR, PHOENIX), "Rave Age" is a monstrous record that takes electro to radically wilder, yet still euphoric, territories. On this album, VITALIC takes a decidedly more pop turn: for the first time working with several singers, he forges his own style of effervescent power-pop. While "Next I'm Ready" and the stratospheric "Fade Away" benefit from the vocals of JOE REEVES, who was once the singer of the now-defunct British punks SHIT DISCO, the bittersweet ballad "Under Your Sun" shines through the sincere interpretation of the French artist FRANCE PICOULET, alias OWLLE. Not to mention the exceptional participation of the turbulent JULIA LANOE from SEXY SUSHI on the relentless hit "La Mort sur le dancefloor," one of the most direct and powerful tracks by VITALIC to date. "Rave Age," far from being a simple succession of club-ready hits, is a fierce and carefree declaration from a dancefloor visionary who has spent the last decade redefining electronic music in his own style and who has decided, as only he could, to push the boundaries of the unknown.
