Constellation

Description

With ‘Constellation,’ Virgil Boutellis-Taft reminds us that music is “one of the most beautiful ways to travel.” In a program rich with his many influences, the violinist combines major works from the repertoire for his instrument (Chausson’s Poème, Janáček’s Sonata, or Danse macabre, here arranged for two violins) with miniatures, testifying to a career marked by concerts around the world and a profound admiration for Yehudi Menuhin. Composer Tara Kamangar is thus featured alongside Philippe Hersant, André Hossein, and Ernest Bloch—all points charting, in filigree, the sources of inspiration for a traveling violinist.
