Description

Recorded in late 2022 and early 2023, the album is the product of a series of marathon recording sessions led by various configurations around Cathy Lucas, Valentina Magaletti and Susumu Mukai. Originally formed by singer and multi-instrumentalist Cathy Lucas in 2015, after a series of lineup changes, Vanishing Twin is now the London collective of Lucas, drummer Valentina Magaletti (Holy Tongue, Tomaga, Moin) and bassist Susumu Mukai (Zongamin). Drawing on the diverse experiences of its members - Lucas' Leftfield artistry, Magaletti's singular approaches to experimental percussion, and Mukai's long history of electronic music production - across almost a dozen releases since 2016, the band has refined a hypnotic sound at the junction of minimalism, kosmische, post-punk and psychedelic pop. Vanishing Twin embarks on a new multifaceted journey that collectively culminates as the band's most avant-garde and groundbreaking album to date.
