Known for his work as a photographer and designer under the name "ISO50," Tycho's music is a blend of various stylistic elements, particularly in the indie/electronica world where downtempo guitar, analog synthesizers, and ambient elements such as breathing sounds, weather report excerpts, and dialogue clips come together. For most of the artists on Back To Mine, music has always been their first love. For Scott Hansen, however, it was all about graphic design, drawing, and photography until a friend in college gave him damaged audio equipment. "I had just ventured into electronic music via the early days of drum & bass, and suddenly, my mind began to wonder how music was made and about the entire creative process." It was this passion for LTJ Bukem and Roni Size that laid the foundation for the career of the San Francisco-based producer, composer, musician, and creative force behind his twice Grammy-nominated project Tycho. Interweaving carefully crafted visuals with a thrilling combination of ambiance, samples, guitars, and synthesizers, Tycho's story now spans six albums since the arrival of "Past Is Prologue" in 2006.
