PLASTIC MAN

Description

Touki, the collective founded by British-Senegalese musician Amadou Diagne and French-American Cory Seznec, is back with their second album, Plastic Man. This time the band enlisted virtuoso American cellist and violinist Duncan Wickel to help them develop and arrange the music. Plastic Man focuses on climate change and environmental activism, blending West African fables, personal stories, and the major social, economic, and political issues facing our world. Touki's sound fuses East and West African styles and traditions with Appalachian banjo, folk motifs, and orchestral arrangements. Touki, which means journey in Wolof, Amadou's native language, navigates the cross-currents of our complex world and understands that the musical journey itself is the destination.
