The Happening

The Happening was born by accident. Three musicians - Jeff Mills, Prabhu Edouard and Jean-Philippe Dary - were simply asked to "play something" to provide additional footage for the video crew who had come to film the group as they worked in a studio north of Paris on their upcoming album Forbidden Planet. There were no guidelines during this recording, only the idea of using music as a vector of consciousness. This nine-minute piece explores a moment suspended in time, evoking past creation and a distant future. Over the course of these nine intense minutes, each of the musicians explored their limits, giving birth to a unique work. The Happening speaks of the life and death of all living things... of the infinite.
