Thomas de Pourquery is an extravagant showman with a boisterous aura. The man who likes to describe himself as a male diva is releasing LET THE MONSTER FALL, an electro-pop album that reflects him: charismatic, vibrant, and thunderous. Accompanied by YODELICE (who produced the album) and some of his long-time friends, the artist draws inspiration from his idols – THE FLAMING LIPS, FUTURE ISLANDS, and BON IVER – and reveals very intimate lyrics, some written during his adolescence. “I always knew I would be a singer,” he proclaims. For the man who paid tribute to SUN RA with his wild band SUPERSONIC is known in a world very different from pop: jazz. A saxophone virtuoso, self-taught, he already boasts over twenty years in music and was even voted best French musician at the VICTOIRES DU JAZZ in 2022. Yet, Thomas de Pourquery admits he long hid behind his instrument. Before this album, he amassed experiences, formed tons of bands (jazz, pop, rock...) and outlandish projects (like a punk brass band) for which he was always the leader, and played memorable roles in French art-house films. He also lent his talent to pop stars like METRONOMY and CLARA LUCIANI... until he finally became one himself.
