Release of the new album by the iconic Thelonious Monk, the result of a legendary and unreleased recording from a historic concert on Sunday, October 27, 1968, in Palo Alto.
After the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968, racial tensions in the country significantly increased. Danny Scher, then a high school student at Palo Alto High School, decided to organize a concert to foster racial cohesion and raise funds for his school's International Committee. His dream was to have Thelonious Monk perform, and he successfully convinced him. After many twists and turns, the concert finally took place and was a resounding triumph.
