Brilliant Corners is a 1957 album by jazz pianist Thelonious Monk, released on the Riverside label. While his two previous albums for the label consisted of standards and were performed as a trio, this one is mainly composed by Monk and features six musicians. The group primarily recorded as a quintet, with Monk joined by saxophonists Sonny Rollins and Ernie Henry, bassist Oscar Pettiford, and drummer Max Roach. Bassist Paul Chambers and trumpeter Clark Terry only appear on the last track. The complexity of the eponymous track required no fewer than twelve takes. Limited edition blue vinyl.
